― Plato
It is a happy talent to know how to play.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
This toy allowed to imagine what you were seeing. It was at the zoo or at the circus. We looked at shots of movies, and imagined what happened next.
Playing to be a doctor was fun. We learned to role play. We imagined we would be doctors as we grew up. We dreamed, and had aspirations.
As a young child my parents, and other adults encouraged play. When we got together with our friends our parents would tell us to go somewhere, and play. We enjoyed it we normally wanted to get together just to play with each other. Playing was the role that a child played.
Play in 2014 is so different. Kids do not like to go outside, and play that lack the wont to be physical. Children also lack imagination. If you take a modern day group of children, and say go play they probably will not know what to do. In the past we would play tag, chase each other anything to have fun, and laugh.
Throughout life play is essential. As a get older the appropriate amount of play time changes. We have find appropriate times to be playful because we have things that we are now responsible for such as career, home, and family.
